THE Red Arrows drew in the crowds for RAF Lyneham's Families Day.
The annual event was held on Thursday and was attended by family and friends of the service personnel and workers a the air base.
Spectacular displays by the Red Arrows, Tornados, Hawks, Tucanos and Tutor aircraft lit up the skies, while the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team eventually made it through the clouds to land in a packed arena before standing to attention as the Hercules performed a flypast.
There was also a large static aircraft display and some guests were lucky enough to take to the skies of Wiltshire onboard a flight in the C130 Hercules, based at RAF Lyneham. Arena displays included the Royal Artillery Motorcycle Display Team, the Band of the RAF Regiment and the RAF Lyneham Police Dogs demonstrated their skills. An Inter-Squadron Chariot Race won by 70 Squadron rounded off the festivities.
A Kids Zone, Pedro Circus Bus, magicians and balloon modellers kept children entertained throughout the day.
And the Physical Education Flight ran a Dunking Pool which proved to be popular with several station executives getting soaked through courtesy of their many, over excited subordinates.
